NORA’s Outdoor Recreation division is all about helping kids and families discover, explore, and enjoy the natural spaces in our community. Our mission is to make the outdoors accessible, engaging, and fun for all ages. To give kids a taste of outdoor recreation, we offer Outdoor Recreation Explorers programs throughout the year. Typically these camps take place over just a few days during or just before school breaks where we try different experiences each day to see all that our area has to offer. Our goal is to keep these programs low cost and provide as much equipment as possible so the focus can be on fun and trying something new.
Staying in town for Spring Break doesn't have to be boring - join Ms Jackie for a Spring Break to remember with plenty of outdoor recreation activities your child will love! These camps offer flexibility with two separate sessions Monday/Tuesday and Wednesday/Thursday both 10am-12pm you can register for one session or both. The Monday/Tuesday camp takes place at North Ottawa Rod & Gun Club and Hofma Park. We will do archery at NORGC and then on Tuesday we will do some hiking & geocaching at Hofma Park/Preserve. For the Wednesday/Thursday session, we will be meeting in Ferrysburg first at Coast Guard Park where we will hike & geocache then on Thursday, bring your bike to Ottawa Sands County Park to bike around the lake, look for local wildlife and even find a few geocaches there as well.
