Youth Basketball

NORA offers recreational after school basketball programs for 3rd - 6th graders and challenge league for 7th/8th graders. We offer after school girls basketball in the Fall (October - December) and after school boys' basketball in the Winter (January - March). Look for registrations for these programs approximately 1 month prior to start dates. Volunteer coaches are always welcome for these programs and essential for their success.

Winter Break Youth Basketball Clinic

Are your kids excited to get back to school—or are you excited for them to go back? Either way, give them a fun reason to get out of the house for a bit! Join Coach Bailey for a one-day basketball clinic at White Pines Intermediate School.

Clinic Times: 1st & 2nd Grade: 9:00–10:00 AM 

                     3rd & 4th Grade: 10:00–11:15 AM 

                     5th & 6th Grade: 11:30 AM–1:00 PM 

Players will sharpen their skills in shooting, layups, dribbling, and more—all while building confidence on the court!

Youth 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament (3rd-8th Grade)

Get ready for a fun, action-packed day of hoops with NORA’s Youth 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament! Bring your teammates, your best moves, and plenty of energy for a day full of friendly competition and excitement. 

Date: Saturday, January 3 

Time: TBD — based on the number of teams (younger divisions play first, older divisions follow) ⛹️‍♂️ First games tip off at 9:00 or 10:00 AM

Boys Basketball (4th Grade)

4th Grade Boys Basketball League - Winter 2026
Join us for this fun after school youth basketball league and play fun games against 4th grade boys from other Grand Haven Area Schools. Practices will be held after school once or twice a week (schedule communicated by team coaches), games are on Monday evenings at either 5:30pm or 6:30pm at White Pines Intermediate School. The season will wrap up with a fun tournament on a Saturday morning at White Pines Intermediate School (date TBD). Registration includes a team jersey. 

Volunteers Needed: 

Head Coach - schedule practices, communicate with other head coaches, officials, NORA staff. 

Assistant Coach - attend practice and assist head coach, communicate with parents 

Fundraising - find a sponsor for your team, NORA will provide information on tax receipt, etc.

5th & 6th Grade Boys Basketball - Winter 2026

Join us for this fun after-school house league. All skill levels welcome as we develop foundational basketball skills as well as leadership and teamwork together. All practices will be held at White Pines after school from 4:00pm-5:30pm on Tuesdays & Thursdays. All games will also be held on Tuesdays/Thursdays at White Pines with a short team warm up and then games will begin at 4:30pm - 5:30pm. Spectators welcome for games but practices are closed to spectators. Registration includes a team jersey

Our 7th/8th Grade Girls Challenge Team is a competitive, skill-focused team designed for athletes who are passionate about basketball and ready to take their game to the next level. Competing in the Holland Recreation League, we emphasize teamwork, discipline, and development of fundamentals in a positive and supportive environment. Players will build on core skills such as ball-handling, shooting, defense, and game strategy while facing strong competition from local teams. This team is ideal for girls preparing for their middle school seasons. 

 Practices: Thursday evenings from 7:30-9:00 PM at White Pines Intermediate School - Begins October January 22

Games: Saturday mornings - January 31 & February 7, 14, 21, 28 - End of Season Tournament - March 7
