Youth Biking Through NORA

NORA offers a variety of biking programs that help kids gain confidence, build skills, and discover the joy of riding on two wheels. In partnership with Velo Kids, we run mountain biking classes that get riders out on the trails, learning technique and adventure skills in a supportive setting. For beginners, programs like Balance Buddies, Balance Bike Meet-Ups, and Pedal Pals provide fun ways for kids to learn to ride and grow comfortable on their bikes. Beyond the basics, we’re expanding opportunities with biking/geocaching classes—where participants ride from park to park in search of hidden treasures—and Kids Urban Bike Tours, exploring Grand Haven by bike while learning about local history. When the season's not right for riding, we partner with local bicycle shop Loose Spokes to offer youth bike maintenance clinics to make sure your bike stays in tip-top shape for when the conditions are right for a ride. Whether just starting out or ready for the trails, NORA’s biking programs make riding fun, active, and accessible for all.

Winter 2026

Youth Bike Maintenance Clinic

Winter in Michigan may not be ideal for riding, but it is the perfect time to focus on taking care of your bike. We are partnering with local bike shop Loose Spokes to offer a hands-on youth bike maintenance clinic. Participants will learn how to care for their bikes, perform basic fixes, and receive expert tips to keep their ride in peak condition for the upcoming season. Clinic will be held at Loose Spokes Bicycle Shop in Grand Haven. Participants must bring their own bike. Help your young cyclist stay prepared year-round by giving their bike the attention it needs during the off-season.
