No school on a Wednesday? Sweet! Ms Jackie has a fun multi-sport program to fill your day with adventure!
Geocaches, Wheels & Arrows - we will start out at Hofma Preserve (newer entrance off 168th Ave) where we will ride the trails looking for geocaches. After finding a good number of caches, we will take a break at the picnic shelter at Hofma Preserve and eat lunch. Then, we will ride across the bridge into Hofma Park. From there, we will head out of the parks and over to North Ottawa Rod & Gun Club where we will spend the afternoon shooting archery. Bows and arrows are provided. BYO bike, helmet, lunch, water and snacks.
Meet up time: 9:45am at Hofma Preserve (168th Ave Parking Lot) Pick Up Time: 2pm at North Ottawa Rod & Gun Club (parking lot/clubhouse) This program is great for kids in grades 2-9 as long as they can ride 3-4 miles throughout the day (we will always have stops for snacks, water, bathroom breaks and take a big break during lunch). If you need to borrow a bike, please reach out to Jackie Rowland and we can make sure we have one for them. The trails are mostly packed gravel so most kids bikes will work for this ride but training wheels will not work so they must be able to ride a 2-wheeler without assistance.
