Fall Youth Fishing - Saturdays at Bass River - Fall 2026

Join new NORA instructor Ethyn Minner, local high schooler and outdoors enthusiast, for these fun 2 week fishing sessions at Bass River Recreation Area. Register for one or both sessions, each session includes 2 Saturdays. Perfect for ages 7+. Bait provided, no experience necessary. If you need a fishing pole, reach out to Jackie Rowland (rowlandj@norarec.org), we have plenty of extras!

Meet by the Boat Access Parking Area each week and we will fish in the Grand River as well as the lake nearby the boat access area.

  • What Should We Bring?: If you have your own fishing pole, tackle, etc. you are welcome to bring it. Mr Ethyn can help you if you have questions about your rod or want advice on lures to use for certain situations. If you don't have your own fishing pole, we have plenty of extras - you can get one to keep! Other than fishing gear, bring a snack and a water bottle. Bug spray and sunscreen are recommended.
  • What should we wear?: Dress for the weather - if it's lightly raining, we will still be outside fishing. We will only cancel due to thunderstorms or other severe weather.
